About this place
When the doors open at 8:00, shelves begin filling with freshly baked goods and the aroma of brewed coffee drifts through Higurashi Bakery. The shop draws a steady stream of visitors, from locals picking up loaves on their way home to early risers stopping in for breakfast.
Among the savory pastries, the curry bun is a standout favorite, celebrated for its satisfyingly crunchy crust and balanced spice. The bakery also crafts cheese curry buns, flavorful eggplant pastries, and flaky croissants rich with butter. For everyday dining, the shop bakes simpler breads like the Higurashi Loaf, made with Hokkaido Haru yo Koi wheat and the water-roux (yudane) method to achieve a tender, pillowy crumb.
Purchases can be taken to go or enjoyed on-site in the indoor seating area or on the open courtyard terrace. Up on the second floor, comfortable sofas and balcony seats look over the tranquil grounds, enhanced by the quiet presence of the neighboring bookstore. With a drink menu spanning drip coffee, rich matcha lattes, and house-made lemonades, relaxing here with greenery in view makes for an easy morning pause.
